Services

At Ripple Effect, we create individually tailored maintenance plans that ensure the long-term health and beauty of your pond or water feature. We utilize proven methods that focus on a healthy ecosystem- such as, regular water testing, filtration management, eco-friendly water treatment, shoreline management, aeration,  plant management, and seasonal monitoring.

  • Water Testing: We track key factors like pH, oxygen levels, and nutrient concentrations to detect imbalances early and inform targeted treatments. Read more about the importance of water testing HERE.

  • Water Treatment: Using the data from water testing and other observations, we develop treatment plans to maintain water health and clarity, and to control and remove algae or other invasive plants. Our goal is to create a functional ecosystem with a  focus on natural treatments that build build your pond or water feature's ecosystem and natural ability to combat the causes of poor water quality. Read more about our water treatments HERE.

  • Cleanouts/Sludge Removal: With some ponds it's ideal to do a regular spring cleanout to remove sediment and sludge buildup to maintain the highest water quality. On really large ponds doing a full cleanout is not ideal because there's simply to much water to empty from the pond. However,  with a properly maintained pond, dredging/sludge removal should be a rare occurrence. With these really large ponds, even when they have a healthy ecosystem, it's normal to have some buildup of excess organic material. We can help you with regular maintenance, water treatments, and proper fish management that will help limit the need for this laborious task. We can help manage these services when they are necessary. Read more about dredging and sludge removal HERE.

  • Plant Removal: Without physically removing unwanted plant matter from your waterway the root cause of water quality issues often remains and can worsen over time. Chemical treatments alone leave plant matter to die, sink, and decay within your waterway. This causes further detriment to the health and clarity of your waterway by contributing to muck and sludge buildup. Find out more about how plant removal and mechanical filtration keeps your water healthy by clicking HERE.

  • Aeration: We will determine if water oxygenation is sufficient and if additional aeration would benefit your water feature. Aeration systems promote oxygen circulation, can improve water quality, and prevent stagnant zones where algae and sludge can otherwise build up. Proper oxygenation can be achieved through fountains, aerators, streams, and waterfalls.  Read more about aeration and how it can improve your water quality HERE.

  • Repairs, Retro-fits: We employ industry leading pond, stream, and waterfall construction practices. If your water feature is in need of repairs or a retro-fit to add necessary mechanical or biological filtration or other design elements, we can help manage the design needs and perform the tasks ourselves or utilize our network of specialized pond and water feature builders to perform the work to specification. Read more about repairs and retro-fits to improve your water feature.  HERE.

  • Shoreline Management: We stabilize shorelines with native plants and other natural materials to control erosion, and prevent unwanted leaching and erosion that deteriorates water quality. Read more about shoreline management HERE.
